Three athletes from North Battleford are celebrating a national title after helping the Lakeland Rustlers capture the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Women’s Volleyball National Championship.

Taylor Bugg, Mya Lavallee, and Charlotte Adamcryck were all part of the Rustlers roster that secured the national title, marking the program’s fourth consecutive CCAA championship.

This year’s national tournament was hosted by Providence University College in Niverville, where the Rustlers once again proved themselves as the top women’s college volleyball program in the country.

The three athletes first began their volleyball journeys in the Battlefords with the BVC Volleyball Club. It was there they developed their passion for the sport and built the foundation of the skills that would eventually take them to the collegiate level.

From their early days playing club volleyball locally, the trio progressed through school and competitive programs before moving on to join the Rustlers, where they now compete against the best college teams from across Canada. Their dedication and development helped the team power through the national tournament and extend its remarkable championship run.

Winning one national championship is a major accomplishment. Being part of a program that has now claimed four straight national titles is even more remarkable, and the North Battleford trio now shares in that historic achievement.

For the Battlefords community, their success is a point of pride. Having three local athletes contribute to a national championship highlights the strength of grassroots volleyball in the region and the role local programs like BVC play in helping young athletes reach the next level.

Their journey—from local courts in the Battlefords to the national championship stage—serves as inspiration for the next generation of volleyball players dreaming of competing at the highest levels of collegiate sport.
