RCMP appeal to public to find stolen member’s jacket

Jul 31, 2018 | 2:00 PM

Police are looking for an RCMP patrol jacket that was stolen from a police cruiser at an event last weekend.

The theft happened when Shellbrook RCMP officers conducted a patrol at a demolition derby event in Parkside last Saturday, July 28.

Around 11:45 p.m. the Mounties were advised a person entered the RCMP vehicle in the parking lot. Police say only the jacket was taken from the vehicle.

Police say it’s important to have the jacket returned. Anyone wearing it could be in violation of a criminal code offence, which is personating a peace officer.
