‘We won’t let this define us’: Silvernagle
After having a few days to sit back and reflect on Sunday’s final at the Viterra Scotties Tournament of Hearts, in Melfort; Robyn Silvernagle is trying to put the experience into perspective.
The Silvernagle foursome which represents the Twin Rivers Curling club in North Battleford dominated throughout the round robin winning eight straight games after opening the tournament with a loss. She went on to defeat Chantelle Eberle in the semi-final before dropping a heartbreaking 6-5 extra end decision to Sherry Anderson of Saskatoon.
“We started out the week rather slow but after a couple of extra end wins we got on a roll,” she said. “We all played very well and that we are really proud of.”
Silvernagle’s rink consisting of mate Jolene Campbell of Regina, second stone Dayna Demers of Meadow Lake and lead stone Kara Thevenot of Prince Albert held leads of 2-0, 4-2 and 5-3 in the final however veteran Sherry Anderson who will be skipping her fifth team at the Scotties National Championship found a way to come back.
