Stars prepared for battle with Hawks

The Battlefords North Stars are back in action tonight at the Civic Centre, as the team welcomes the defending-champion Nipawin Hawks to town.

JPII Junior Boys take home second-straight gold

The John Paul II Junior Boys Basketball team won their second-straight gold medal over the weekend at a tournament in Melfort.

Playing the Weyburn Eagles in their first game Friday, the Crusaders’ boys demolished their opposition to the tune of a commanding 83-35 win.

BHDA ready for another year of the Robbie Burns Supper and Ceilidh

It may be a ways away, but the Robbie Burns Supper and Ceilidh preparations are well underway.

The Scottish event is on January 26, with doors opening up at 5 p.m., and supper at 6 p.m. The event promises to entertain and continue to show off the Scottish culture in the Battlefords.

Stars’ captain clinches thrilling OT win

Tied 2-2 with the final seconds left in overtime quickly dwindling down, Stars’ captain, Cody Spagrud picked up the puck in his own zone.

North Stars seek revenge against Ice Wolves

Coming off a tough 3-1 loss last night to the La Ronge Ice Wolves in Pinehouse, the Battlefords North Stars will aim to avenge their defeat tonight, taking on the same Ice Wolves team, this time in La Ronge.

Ice Wolves freeze Stars, 3-1

The Battlefords North Stars fell 3-1 to the La Ronge Ice Wolves in Pinehouse Thursday night.

For La Ronge the win marked their first in 15 games, snapping a 14-game losing streak that began Oct. 30th.
