Stars take division lead with OT win over Hounds

The Battlefords North Stars closed out another perfect weekend showing with a huge 3-2 overtime victory over the Notre Dame Hounds to leapfrog the division-rival Klippers for top spot in the Global Ag. Risk Solutions Division with 56 points.

Stars aim for fourth-straight win in captain’s homecoming

The Battlefords North Stars have won three-straight games heading into Saturday as the team travels to Gull Lake to take on the Division-rival Notre Dame Hounds.

Although not technically a “home game,” Gull Lake is the hometown of North Stars’ captain, defenseman Cody Spagrud.

Friday night provided a playoff-like atmosphere for those inside West Central Events Centre, as the two teams played a tough, physical game throughout the night.

The Battlefords North Stars beat the division-rival Kindersley Klippers 3-1 Friday at West Central Events Centre in Kindersley. Entering action three points behind the Klippers, the North Stars are now just a single point back of the division-lead for top spot in the Global Ag.

After nearly a full week off, the Battlefords North Stars set out for game one of another back-to-back set this weekend with Friday’s game in Kindersley against the division-rival Klippers.

With just 18 games remaining in the Battlefords North Stars’ regular-season schedule, MacGregor Sinclair seems to only be getting better as the season enters the stretch run.

SJHL wrap up showcase with MJHL, win four of six

Regina, Sask. - The final day of the 2019 SJHL/MJHL Showcase kicked off Tuesday with the SJHL’s Team Schwartz defeating the MJHL’s Team Garbutt 4-2. The game was the second meeting between the two sides.

After a thoroughly eventful opening day of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League/Manitoba Junior Hockey League Showcase, early action on the second day suggests the pace of play may have actually amped up even further overnight – if that’s even possible.

The SJHL’s Team Kunitz closed out the night with a big 2-1 win over Team Belfour in a game that saw the group mesh almost instantaneously in their first game as a team.

Regina, Sask. -- The first day of action at the 2019 SJHL/MJHL Showcase proved flush with storylines as the top college-eligible players from the two provinces started to duke it out at Co-operators Centre.
