Winnifred Elliott
May 16, 1927 – June 11, 2022
Winnifred (Winnie) Elliott passed away peacefully on June 11th, 2022, at Saskatoon City Hospital surrounded by family. Winnie was predeceased by her loving husband of 72 years, Ken. She left behind four daughters – Gloria (John) LaClare, Sandra deMontarnal, Carol Ann (John) Florchinger, and Karen Delparte, her grandchildren – Chris (Vaneesa), Elton (Yeo-ju), Claude, Nicole (Andrew), Courtney (Eric), Jordan (Ashlyn), Liam and Ainsley, her great-grandchildren – Caelan, Annara, Coen, Eric (Ashley), Ty, Georgia and her great-great-granddaughter Elle.
Winnie was born in Carruthers Saskatchewan in 1927. She went on to attend Normal School in Saskatoon, and shortly after that started her career teaching in and around Edam, Sk. Throughout her life Winnie enjoyed gardening, reading and sewing. Those who knew her, were aware she was a lover of music and dancing; square dancing with her husband and taking lessons to play the organ. She even joined the choir at Preston Park in her retirement.
Winnie was dedicated to her family and enjoyed spending many summers with them at Turtle Lake. She was always interested in what people had to say and enjoyed everyone’s company. She wanted to be remembered for loving her family – and in lieu of a funeral wanted them to have a party in which her only request was that no one told any embarrassing stories about her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Winnie’s memory to a charity of your choice. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Preston Park 1 as well as SCH 3300 for the wonderful care they provided Winnie.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to T’Neale Bosman of Sallows & McDonald~Wilson & Zehner Funeral Home, North Battleford, SK
