Wilson was born in Notre Dame Hospital in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. He attended Connaught and NBCH schools.
Wilson was predeceased by parents Virginia and William, nephew Robin John, sister Caroline and brother Robin Lee. He is lovingly remembered by siblings Nancy, Richard and Joanne.
