V. Dale Polichuk

V. Dale Polichuk age 72, of Borden, SK passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026 after a short but aggressive battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on February 8, 1954, Dale dedicated his life to his family, fishing and hunting and the ability to figure out and fix anything he set his mind to. After trying his hand at farming in southern Saskatchewan, he switched careers and trained as a journeyman welder. He worked at GLM Tanks in North Battleford, SK until retiring in 2015. He could not sit still so began working part-time at the Eagle Creek Park until requiring double hip surgery.
Dale is survived by his wife of 52 years Terry Wiik, his children, Ryan Polichuk (Tiffany Konotopetz) with grandsons Weston and Tate Polichuk of Borden, SK and his son Aryn Polichuk (Katie Irwin) of Burlington, ON. He is also survived by his Mother, Irene Polichuk, sisters Sandra Malcolm, Sylvia (Alain) Rodrigue, Janice (Doug) Horn, and Vera (Blair) Horn, many nieces and nephews, neighbours and friends. He was preceded in death by his Father, Walter Polichuk, Mother and Father-in-law, Joan and Dennis Wiik, Brothers-in-law David Malcolm and David Cahill and numerous aunts and uncles.
A private family viewing will be held at Cherished Memories Funeral Home in Martinsville, SK on June 10th at 1 p.m. An informal celebration of life and social gathering will be held in the Seniors Hall at the Borden Community Centre on July 18th, 2026 at 1:30 – 5 pm in Borden, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saskatchewan Cancer Center, Saskatoon, SK.
