Nicholson, Sally (Sylvia Marie)

It is with sadness the family of Sally Nicholson announce her passing on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the age of 83 years in Hafford, SK.

Sally was born in the Hafford on April 26, 1938. She was the youngest daughter of Bill (William) and Rose (nee Kormish) Huziak. Sally grew up in Speers and attended school there and after graduating high school, worked for the local telephone company for a number of years.

She married Ted (Thomas) Nicholson on April 21, 1960 in Speers where they started their family. In 1966 Ted was transferred to Provost, Alberta where the family remained for a year before again being transferred to Peace River, Alberta. In 1971 Ted and Sally returned to Speers to farm with Ted’s brother Nelson on the family farm. They continued to farm until the 90’s when both Ted and Nelson retired. As well as raising her family, Sally was very active in the community of Speers. She was a member of the local I.O.D.E. chapter, the Kinette Club and volunteered at most local events. She was well know for her catering both privately and with the Speers Recreation Centre.

Sally is survived by 2 sons: Kim and Dean; son-in-law, Kevin; grand-daughter, Aspyn; brother-in-law, Nelson; sister, Elsie; brother, George (Faye) and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ted (2020), father, Bill (1996), mother, Rose (1999), son, Todd (2012), daughter, Darcee (2017), and nephew, Darrell (2017).

At Sally’s request there will not be a Funeral Service. A memorial service and interment will be held at a future date.
