Ronald Michael Pirot

It is with sad heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ron Pirot who passed away too early at the age of 73 years in Edam, SK on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.
Dad was born in Saskatoon April 20,1948 but he was brought up in Cando, SK while his family owned/operated a general store and implement dealership. Ron attended St. Thomas College in North Battleford, SK as a border/resident for his secondary schooling. He was proud to have gained employment outside of the family businesses at J B Lockers while in high school stocking the ice lockers and then working at the North Battleford fire department and living there as well.
After high school, Dad did a year of study at NAIT in Edmonton, AB and then returned to Cochin, SK to run the store and eventually purchasing it with his cousin. The two young men split ways, then Ron owned and operated the store with his wife Lynn Pirot for over 30 years. After the store sold Dad’s career continued and he eventually retired and spent 10 restful years wintering in Phoenix, AZ. In Arizona he saw the sights and entertained grandchildren and friends at hockey games and baseball games.
Ronald Michael Pirot is survived by his children: Michael (Kirstin) Pirot, their children: Alexandre, Elise, Madeleine and Isabelle; Roni Pirot; Nicole (Jason) Porterfield their children: Nora, Julia and his former wife, Lynn Pirot.
The Funeral Service will be held at St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church in Cochin, SK on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021 at 1:00pm with Fr. Barry Tkatchuk as celebrant. Luncheon will follow the Service.
