Rodney Morris Jonasson
April 17th, 1952 – April 4th, 2021
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Rodney Morris Jonasson. With many loved ones by his side, he lost his battle to cancer on April 4th at the Shellbrook Hospital. Rodney is survived by his loving wife Cindy, his children; Melanie Quintal, Tianna (Matt) Brown, Tara (Ryan) Bunton, Justin Jonasson, his grandchildren; Ethan and Owen Ambros, Dexter and Korbyn Brown, and Kacen and Avianna Bunton, His mother, Margaret Jonasson, siblings; Marie Nickelson, Lorna Britton, Larry (Dianne) Jonasson, Randy Jonasson and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father Albin Jonasson, his sister Debbie Ledsham and his brothers in law; Art Britton and Ben Nickelson.
Rodney was born on April 17th, 1952 in Big River, Saskatchewan. He was an amazing man who had (what seemed like endless amounts) of love and kindness to give. All who knew him felt his positive energy and calming nature. He loved camping, hunting, and being at the lake but his greatest joys in life were his grandkids and spending time visiting with many family friends. He will be greatly missed and thought of often as he leaves many cherished memories behind.
There will be a private family service held April 8th, a recording of the Funeral Service will be available on the Beau “Lac” website within a few days of this service. There will be a Celebration of Life and Interment held at a later date.
In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Rodney may be made to the Shellbrook & Districts Health Services Foundation.
