It is with great sadness that the Family of Robin Donald, 39, of Surrey, BC, announces her sudden passing on October 2nd, 2022, from a tragic car accident.
Robin was born on June 16th, 1983, to Lee and Margaret “Margie” Donald in Big River, Saskatchewan. Robin was born and raised and grew up on a Cattle Farm in Big River, Saskatchewan with her parents and her three sisters. In her youth she was active in 4H, youth group, trail riding and competing in the Leoville Rodeo. Robin had a passion and a love for horses her entire life. She would attend many trips across to Leoville with Family and Friends annually and even into her adult years where she would later share the experiences with her spouse Mike Martel (45). After High School Robin attended and graduated from Vermilion College where she accomplished her studies in Herd Health Technology. It was around this time that Robin would introduce Family and Friends to another fun adventurous side of herself that she joked and labeled Bernadette.
Robin, her best friend, and spouse Mike, their two Children Maverick (9) and Bailee-Jo (5) along with their other three babies their miniature pinschers Missy, Lucius and Stella moved out to Surrey, BC in the Spring of 2018. Robin had many interests and many that she would share over the years with Mike from playing ball, card nights, trail riding, volunteering at the Ness Creek Music Festival, to attending several concerts and Riders games back home in Saskatchewan. Once they moved to BC, they continued sharing in their love of interests by attending many of their favourite sporting events WWE, Rider Games, and Vancouver Canucks games.
While living in BC, Robin was able to get back into her specialized career over the years (started in Lloydminster, AB) in the Service Parts Department of the Auto Industry. Over the past 3 and a half years Robin has had the pleasure and took pride working at Mainland Ford in Surrey, BC. Coworkers and customers would describe Robin as a breath of fresh air, always goal oriented, had an eagerness to help others in need, focused, and a great asset to her company. Robin would be later defined by her coworkers as “If you were to release her into the air on a stormy day, she would change the sky to sunshine”.
Robins’ world was her children Maverick and Bailee-Jo. She loved every minute in sharing, cheering, and celebrating their interests, goals, and accomplishments. Robin and Mike attended martial art events, the racetrack, baseball games, soccer games (often in the rain), their children’s concerts, swimming and even a modelling audition. As a Family Robin and Mike left no stone unturned for their Kids as they toured the beaches, parks, amusement rides and filled their lives with new experiences while taking in the beauty of BC and their many visits back home to Saskatchewan.
Over the years Robin and Mike would lend their ears, voices, and shoulders as well as even opening their home to others in need. Whether it was finding them a job, being supportive, lending assistance, or providing a home to live in they always had room in their hearts and lives to helping friends, family and even strangers in need.
