RICHARD 'Dick' BUCK

With broken hearts we announce the passing of Richard Buck at the age of 56. A loving Husband, Father, Stepfather, Papa, Brother, Cousin, In-law, and Friend, he will be deeply missed by so many.
Richard was born in Port Alberni, BC to Ingrid and Alex Buck. He grew up in Shell Lake, SK but made his home in Meota and North Battleford for the past 15 years, where he and his family operated their septic business.
Richard loved working with his hands – he could fix just about anything – and he was always ready to lend a hand to friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed being outdoors – sledding, quadding, fishing, hunting, and spending time around a fire, visiting, sharing stories, and having a beer.
Most of all Richard loved us, his family, and we knew that he would do anything for us. While he was known to be stubborn and grouchy at times, he was the strongest man we knew. He muscled through any difficulty with determination and courage. But as strong as he was, he was a softy too. He was a very special ‘Papa’ to the little ones in his life. They all loved that he played with them, and he always seemed to have a grandchild or two following him around as he fixed vehicles and worked in his shop.
It is fitting that Richard was able to make a difference in someone else’s life through the gift of organ donation. We are so grateful for that.
Please join us at an informal gathering to come together to remember Richard on Saturday, August 12th, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Shell Lake Lions Hall, 2 Ave East, Shell Lake, SK.
