Job Summary: Emergency Medical Technicians are responsible for providing emergent and non-emergent Basic Life Support (BLS) services to the sick and injured, and for continuing to provide BLS medical services until responsibility for patient care can be assumed by hospital authorities or a Paramedic.
Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), CMA Accredited Pre-Hospital Care Program at the Primary Care Paramedic (PCP/EMT) level, Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at the PCP/EMT level, Valid Class 4 drivers license, Clean Driver’s Abstract, PCP 2011 NOCP
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to travel both within the region and provincially
- Advanced communication skills
- Advanced interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Pay Band: $29.909 to $36.572 (5 step range)
- CEC Shifts: 12 hour night shifts (7 days per week), may include some shorter shifts (subject to change)
- EMS Shifts: 8 hour shifts with 16 hours of standby assignment (7 days per week)
- Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. HSAS seniority with the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.
- This is a Regional position that is currently based out of the Maidstone facility, which includes EMS and the Collaborative Emergency Centre (CEC)
