Shirley Mary Webster was born on January 6th, 1937 on the Schneider farm near St. Walburg Saskatchewan and passed peacefully to eternal rest on April 15th, 2022 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Raymond Webster; by their children: Brent (Brenda) Webster; Beverly (Harold) Milne; Grandchildren: Andrew Webster, Marla (Scott) Rogers, Olivia (Chad) Koziak, Thomas (Acacia) Milne; Great-Grandchildren: Summer and Simona Rogers; and Sophia and Kayla Koziak.
Shirley was a loving and carrying family person. She was happiest baking, knitting or crocheting for her kids and grandkids. There were many nights of playing cards with neighbors and friends followed by a scrumptious lunch to be enjoyed by all. Farm life near St. Walburg was something she shared with husband Ray and many days were spent chasing cows, baling or raking hay. Gardening was another hobby that ensured the family was well fed. Before leaving the farm, she was proud to work as a caring nurse’s aide at the long-term care home in St. Walburg.
Hunting season was something Shirley looked forward to with several hunters bunked in at the Webster farm. Her great meals and the Webster hospitality became a huge reason friends came back to the farm for many moose seasons.
She maintained a beautiful garden when they moved to retire in Lloydminster and continued to share the bounty. While living in Lloydminster, Shirley and Ray travelled often to the family cabin at Turtle Lake and enjoyed many days spent on the lake fishing and playing cards at night.
Shirley enjoyed their trips to the peace river country and their time on the Milne Ranch. Her most vivid memory was riding horseback down the peace river hills absolutely convinced she was going to beat the horse to the bottom of the valley.
Shirley was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all of her family and her friends.
