Phyllis Marilyn Berezowski passed away peacefully on the morning of June 26, 2025 at Hafford Special Care Home at the age of 92.  Phyllis was born in Hafford, Saskatchewan on November 27, 1932 to Alex and Annie Bohun.  She was the third child and had two older brothers, Emil and Alex.  Their family lived in the Hafford District and she attended Lost Lake School until 1947 when they moved to a farm in the Richard District.  She completed her schooling in Richard.  She married Mike Berezowski on October 23, 1954.  They welcomed their son Bruce in 1956 and their daughter Marilyn in 1960.  They lived in the Richard District until Mike’s passing in 2007.  She stayed on the farm until 2014 at which time she moved to Saskatoon to live with her son Bruce and daughter-in-law Nadya.

In June of 2023, she moved with them to an acreage south of Battleford, where she enjoyed spending time outdoors patting their dog and cats.  In November 2024, Phyllis entered the Hafford Special Care Home and lived there until her passing.

Phyllis farmed alongside her husband, operating farm equipment whenever needed.  She loved driving the combine and continued to combine even when their daughter Marilyn and son-in-law Leonard took over the farm.  Her passion was gardening and sharing her abundant produce with neighbours, family and friends.  Phyllis loved to cook and entertain.  She and husband Mike hosted many large parties for family and friends.  There was never a shortage of food and drink at their home.  Phyllis loved playing ball.  She was very proud that she was a pitcher on the Richard Ladies Softball Team for several years.  She enjoyed watching sports on TV and going to see her grandchildren and great grandchildren at their various sports events when she was able to.

The family would like to thank Fr. Leonid for visiting her in the Care Home and for officiating the funeral prayers and service.  A special thank you to all those who cared for her at the Hafford Special Care Home.  Heartfelt thanks to everyone for their cards, prayers and well wishes.

The Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 2 at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 205 2nd Str. East, Hafford, Sk.  The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 3 at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hafford, Sk. with Fr. Leonid Malkov CsSR officiating.  Interment will follow at Hafford Catholic Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Box 475, Hafford, Sk.  S0J 1A0.
