Our family is saddened to announce the peaceful passing of our Matriarch May Mary Alexandra Rose (nee Lapointe) with her family by her side.
Late of Prince Albert, SK on Friday August 25, 2023 at the age of 85 years.
Mom was born May 30, 1938 on a homestead near Prince, SK.
Mom’s career within the Prairie North Health Region spanned over 30 years beginning at Battleford’s Union Hospital and finishing her career as a Certified Psych Nurses Aid at the Saskatchewan Hospital. She thoroughly enjoyed going to work and assisting her co-workers in the care of the clients.
Mom loved to bake bread and her pies were undeniably delicious!
She enjoyed the company of anyone who stopped by and looked forward to holidays when we could gather together.
She loved her old-time country music, listening to and watching Pow Wow drumming and dancing. She was involved with the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 70 and a member of the Legion Auxiliary helping with lunches. She also attended many funerals with the Legion as part of the Honor Guard.
Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her greatest passion was creating Bunka pictures and framing them to give them to her loved ones.
And C’mon Blue Jays get busy! Was a frequent saying while watching the game. She loved those Jays.
Mom was a strong and courageous woman and just simply the best and we will cherish every moment we had with her as we remember all the love and laughter we shared.
She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
She will lovingly be remembered by her children, Carol Rose of Chilliwack, BC, Martin (Tess) of Prince Rupert, BC, Gail (Dariusz) Grzesiak of Prince Albert, SK, Wanda Rose-Muzyka of Lloydminster, AB, Her grandchildren: Justin, Lance, Brandy, Matthew, Mackenzie, Jessie, Riley.
And great-grandchildren: Annabelle, Kaleb, Daniel, Danica and Wyam; Sisters- Alma, Dorothy, Florence, Louise, Dorilda, Jeannette; Brothers: Albert, Gene, Merle, Clayton.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Cheryl Lynn Waldrop; Her parents: Albert and Lillian Lapointe; Brothers: Roderick, Patrick, Jules, and Phillip; Sisters: Mary, Doris, Patsy, Josephine; Infant brother, Johnny.
