We are sad to announce the passing of Marlene Yarske on Monday, April 14 at the age of 82. Marlene is survived by her loving husband, John and her three children: Susan (Dino), Jeffrey (Lisa) and Michael (Danielle).
Marlene was predeceased by her parents, Barry and Palma Youngren; her older brother, Ken; her twin brother, Mervin and sister, Greta.
Marlene was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and accompanied her family on moves and living in various communities in North Eastern parts of the province where her father was posted by the CNR. Ultimately, they settled in P.A where she eventually met and married, John her husband of 61 years.
Marlene and John had a very interesting life living and working in the three western provinces while John pursued his career in health care management roles and while taking time to have three children. Marlene had an equally rewarding employment as a fashion coordinator and beauty advisor in the retail field.
Despite moving across three western provinces. Marlene and her family maintained and enjoyed an abiding connection to the family cabin at Murray Point, Emma Lake. The cabin originally established by Marlene’s parents and eventually maintained by Marlene and John, the cabin became a profoundly and binding influence on family relationships as a gathering point and a wonderful venue for extended family members to meet and enjoy each other’s company, including siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends of the family. Marlene was completely devoted as a wife and mother who would do anything and everything for her family. At the same time, she was very committed to her various retail jobs and her artistic hobbies and endeavors.
Marlene endured and stoically lived through many health issues in her life time and when of necessity it became obvious she required more supportive and comprehensive care than could be provided at home. She received excellent care at River Heights Lodge during the last several years of her life. The family would like to acknowledge and express their appreciation for the compassionate and loving care from the staff and management at River Heights Lodge.
Marlene had a profound influence on her family and friends. She exuded kindness and love in all her relationships and will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
There will be no funeral and the family will celebrate Marlene’s life at a later date. Condolences for the family can be made at www.eternalmemoriesfuneral.ca
