It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Wife, Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma – Marion Oberg on August 13, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
Marion was born in McKague, SK to Percy and Violet Bray on February 11, 1941. She met Ray Oberg in 1956 and married him on December 12, 1958. They settled in the Flin Flon/Creighton area and spent most of their married life raising a family there, followed up by moves to Saskatoon and then finally settling in North Battleford. Marion was one of the most kind, caring and generous people you could ever meet, always putting others before herself and forever cheering for the underdog. Marion was a devoted Mom and Grandmother and will always be remembered for her wonderful meals, tremendous baking (bread and cinnamon buns), and beautifully knitted sweaters and mittens. She was always so proud and supportive of her grandchildren and her and Grandpa travelled many miles to attend graduations, swim meets, games and recitals. She had a great sense of humour and was known for her quick-witted one-liners and loved to cheer for the Blue Jays and Riders. She also loved playing cards (but didn’t like to lose).
Left to mourn her passing are her husband of 65 years Ray; daughter Lila (Doug) and sons Nyall (Sharon), Ken (Debbie) and Wade (Tammy). Granddaughters Melissa (Ben); Katelin (Will); Kayla; Bailey, Julia, Mackenzie, Madison and Payton and grandson Keenan (Jerraie). Great grandchildren: Grady, Beckett, Everly, Beau, and Bostyn.
Marion was predeceased by her granddaughter Alex.
Condolences for the family can be made at www.eternalmemoriesfuneral.ca Arrangements have been entrusted to Eternal Memories Funeral Service & Crematorium – Trevor Watts Funeral Director.
