It is with deep sadness that the family of Kay Zayac announce her passing on December 17, 2025 at the Battlefords Union Hospital at the age of 86 years.
Kay is lovingly remembered by her husband Morris of 68 years and their three daughters and their families:
Marlene (Raymond) Oleshko: Chris (Mallory) Oleshko – Adeline, Amelia; Amanda (Richard) Humenny – Steven; Melissa (Steve) Enns – Hudson, Jackson
Patty (Doug) Bennett: Allen (Jacqueline) Bennett – Chloe, Hailey, Owen; Loretta Bennett – Abby; April Bennett
Donna (Richard) Fortin: Josee (Shawn) McGlynn – Olivia, Owen; Riley Fortin (Emily); Keafe Fortin
Her sister Ann Irvine, sisters-in-law: Eileen Yaworski and Joan Yaworski, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Polly Yaworski, brothers: Mike, Peter, Paul, Steve, sister Emily and sister Rosie in infancy.
Kay will be remembered for her loyalty to her husband and family, her kindness, generosity, hospitality, love of country and gospel music, dancing and beautiful smile. Her baking and cooking abilities were unparalleled (especially her perogies and cabbage rolls) much to the delight of anyone who crossed her path. Her fridge was a collage of photos of her kids and grandkids and she proudly showed them off to everyone. She loved getting pictures, hearing stories about what they were doing and especially hugs and kisses from each one of them when they were leaving.
Kay touched many lives in the 86 years she had with us. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her husband, children and grandchildren.
Today she is in heaven, pain free and reunited with some of her family members who are already there!
As per Kay’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Territorial Drive Alliance Church, Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 1:30 p.m., with Pastor Keith Klippenstein officiating. The family invites those in attendance to join them for a time of lunch and fellowship in the gymnasium immediately following the service.
