Joyce made her final journey with her daughter by her side at Pioneer House after a battle with Cancer and Dementia.
Left to cherish Joyce’s loving memory are her precious daughters: Shelley Csoke (Jim), Shirley Csoke; son, Daryl Lehne (Sherri); Step-children: Cheryl Brown (Kenny), Dale Wing (Sheena) and their families; cherished grandchildren: Krista Bondy (Matthew), Kory Dansereau, Natalie Swenarchuk, Meagan Bulmer; her everlasting joy her great-grandchildren: Owen & Noah Bondy, Carson & McKenna King; sister, Eunice Watts; brother, Larry Lehne (Glee) and her dear friend, Rowena Haynes; along with numerous nieces and nephews, loved relatives and friends.
Joyce was greeted in heaven by her beloved Parents; Husband: Gordon Wing, Sisters: Sharon Burgess and Betty Nielsen; Great-Grandson, Tyson Dansereau and many other loved friends and family.
Joyce was born July 31, 1939, in Kinistino, SK to George and Esther Lehne the oldest of five. She was adoringly known by many names: Joooyce, Jo, the Warden, Joycee, Grammy and GG. While she wasn’t much of a farm girl leaving the heavy lifting and animal work to her siblings, she found her place in the kitchen to which we have all reaped the benefits over the years. She enjoyed working and harvesting in the garden, picking berries and then producing amazing pies jams and canned goods. Joyce worked as a Nurses Aid retiring when she was diagnosed with MS but was lucky to return to it later in life working at Points West Living in Lloydminster. Joyce knew how to cut a good rug back in the day never missing the opportunity to kick up her heels on the dance floor – perhaps this is why you would always find her humming. She enjoyed crocheting, bingo and casino trips, chatting on the phone with family and friends for hours, she loved playing the accordion and piano, and cooking up a storm whenever she could. She loved the countless adventures she and Gordon embarked upon whether it was a spur of the moment drive or with the Scamper and many a vacation trailer thereafter – one never knew where they might end up. She and Gordon enjoyed their home on Murray Lake taking in many hours on the lake boating, fishing and trips to Jackfish through the creek. They made lifelong friends while living there becoming gypsies after that calling countless communities’ home before settling back in Lloydminster. She found a friend who was like a sister to her after her beloved husband passed in the building she moved into. She and Rowena were the best of company taking in concerts, bus tours and shopping adventures. When her great-grandchildren came along, she took every opportunity to care for and spend time with them, love on them and enjoyed taking in Owen’s sports jumping in the car whenever she could. Everyone adoringly knew them as “her boys”. Joyce cherished her relationships with her family and friends there was nothing more valuable to her. She has left us beautiful memories and a love that will continue to guide. We will remember the best times, the laughter and the good life she lived when she was strong.
Respectful of Joyce’s wishes, there will be no funeral service, but a graveside service held at a later date where she will join into eternity with her husband Gordon Wing.
