Elfrieda Luise Bossaer (nee Hildebrand) (August 15, 1944 – December 23, 2025 – Age 81)
“Frieda” as she liked to be called, was born in Outlook, SK, the sixth child of immigrant parents from Russia. Frieda grew up on a farm at Hanley, SK with her 5 sisters and 1 brother.
After graduating high school in Hanley, Frieda went to Teacher’s College in Saskatoon. Her first teaching position was in Asquith, SK in 1965. She then moved to Battleford, SK to teach. Frieda then taught at St. John’s School & Holy Family School in North Battleford, SK after marrying Willis in 1968. Frieda obtained her teaching degree in 1970. Frieda taught mostly middle grades for 32 years. She loved teaching math! Frieda was active on the family farm with Willis. She loved to cook and especially bake buns, bread and cinnamon buns and so much more! She was an avid vegetable gardener but loved her begonias and petunias as well. Frieda was a kind, happy soul who always loved a good visit and a big bear hug. She was awonderful loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed greatly.
Left to cherish Frieda’s memory are her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Willis; Her daughters: Sherrill (Jason) LeBlanc and Corinne Bossaer; granddaughters, Megan LeBlanc (Ty Stovin), Marci (Jace) Fischer, Gracie LeBlanc (Kale Williamson). Her siblings: Anita (John) Wiebe, Helen Epp, Marg (Wally) Krause, George (Gail) Hildebrand, Irene (Ron) Bishoff. Sister-in-law: Irene Rathke (Dave Inkster); Numerous nieces and nephews.
Frieda was predeceased by her parents: George and Helen Hildebrand, sister Erika Derksen, brothers-in law: Gordon Derksen and Archie Epp; nephew, Brian Krause; Parents-in-law: Peter and Stefka Bossaer, sister-in-law, Irma Nowosad and brother-in-law, Tony Nowosad.
Vigil of Prayer will take place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass for Frieda will take place on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. both held at Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish, 1201-105 St, North Battleford, SK S9A 1N8
Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Those in attendance are welcomed to the luncheon taking place at St. Joseph Parish Hall, 1942-98 St, North Battleford, SK S9A 0N4.
