It is with great sadness and a lifetime of memories that we say goodbye to our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend Ann Pool. On October 27, 2024 Ann passed away peacefully at the Hafford Special Care Home.
Left to cherish Ann’s memory is her loving husband Frank of 66 years and their children Dorothy (Jack) Androsoff, Jack (Marlene) Pool; Grandchildren Bailey (Matthew) Petrow, Joey (Merissa) Pool, Jonathan (Aubrey) Pool; Great-grandchildren Pete and Penny Petrow, William and Benjamin Pool, Annabelle, Jackson and Aurora Pool; Brother Joseph (Florence) Sadlowski; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her grandson Nicholas Androsoff; parents Joe and Sylvia Sadlowski; in laws Jack and Mary Pool; sister Joyce Peterson and infant brother Michael Sadlowski.
Ann was born on the Matkowski farmstead in Mayfair, SK on November 8, 1941. Shortly after the family moved to the Sich District near Krydor, SK. Ann attended Sich School and then Krydor School until grade 7. She then attended the Convent of The Child Jesus in North Battleford where she completed grade 9.
Ann was introduced to Frank Pool by her Aunt Lena and Uncle Fred Woytiuk at the original Pool homestead. It was love at first sight and four months later Frank and Ann were married on September 26, 1958 in Blaine Lake. Ann was passionate about her family and lovingly raised two children. Ann enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, picking mushrooms and berries, dancing with Frank, and life itself.
Ann worked 22 years as a special care aide at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home and Porteus Lodge in Saskatoon, SK. She took pride in her job and looked after the residents with great care and compassion.
Later in life she enjoyed her grandchildren to the fullest extent. Ann always said her grandchildren could do no wrong even when they were enjoying a drink with her.
In her last years of her life, Ann struggled with Frontal Lobe Dementia and on February 20, 2019 Ann became a resident of Villa Pascal Long Term Care Home in North Battleford where she was lovingly cared for by the staff. On July 4, 2024 Ann moved to the Hafford Special Care Home where she was tenderly looked after until her passing.
The family greatly appreciates the wonderful care she was given by staff in both facilities.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 2, at 2:00 PM held at the Garden Chapel at 1332 100 Street North Battleford, SK and Ann will be laid to rest in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family suggests, that if desired, a donation can be made in Ann’s memory to the Hafford Nursing Home in Hafford SK or the Villa Pascal Long Term Care Home in her memory.
