On Tuesday, June 2nd, our dad, Wendell McRann, peacefully passed away at the age of 91.

We find comfort knowing that he and Mom are now together. We spent countless years as a family on camping, fishing and ski trips, but we think their favourite moments were shared with each other.

Dad moved our family to North Battleford in the early ‘70s when he began working at the former Battleford Indian hospital. After that hospital closed, Dad took on the role of Director of Finance at BUH. Throughout his life, Dad also worked as a restaurant owner, golf course manager, ski instructor for 30 + years and, perhaps most importantly his favourite, security at the Gold Eagle casino for many years, where he was known as “51.”

Some of Dad’s closest friendships were forged through golf, fishing, and hunting trips, as well as his involvement with the Kinsmen and K-40’s, and Table Mountain Ski Hill.

Dad is survived by his kids: Charlene Linnen (Todd), Joanne McRann (Scott) and Brian McRann (April).

Grandchildren: MacKenzie (Marc) Majeau, Maysyn (Alastair) Gordon.

Kimberly McLean, Morilynn  McRann-McLean (Emily), and Dylan (Sheh) McLean. Brittany Weibe (Lachlan), Tyler and Justin McRann.

He also leaves behind great grandchild, Anderson (Andie) Majeau.

Dad will be missed by brothers-in-law: Len, Victor (Janet ) and  Roger (Jackie) Lemieux; as well as sisters-in-law: Lorraine Lemieux and Jean Lemieux.

Those that passed before dad were his wife of 65 years, Bernie; sister, Arline Lemieux; brothers-in-law: Larry, Ben and Father Claude Lemieux.

Sisters-in-law: Edna Brunning, Cloe Regnier, Lorette Bzdel; as well as daughters-in-law: Colleen McRann and Kari McRann.

Funeral Mass for both of our parents will be held Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Calasanctius Roman Catholic Church, 1942 98 St, North Battleford, SK S9A 0N4.
