It is with heavy hearts that the family of Steve Kohut announces his passing. Steve was born on August, 24, 1946 and passed away hours before his 80th birthday on Sunday, August 23, 2026 surrounded by his family.
Survived by his wife, Hazel (nee Drabble) of 54 years, daughter Andrea Kohut, son Blair Kohut and granddaughter Karly Kohut; brothers Sylvester and family, Danny and family and numerous aunts and uncles and cousins.
Dad was raised around the Alticane/ Hafford areas. He grew up to work a variety of jobs, then started work at Sask Wheat Pool as elevator agent, after his early retirement he went to work for Jaeger Transport driving Semi-mostly doing the fuel run to Regina and back. He enjoyed driving Semi and did this for the last 26-27 years until June 2026.
Dad was a self-taught jack of all trades. He enjoyed building sheds and garages and fixing things around the house and yard. He loved playing hockey as a goalie with a few teams over the years. He enjoyed working on vehicles especially if they needed a motor or transmission. He especially loved getting a good deal on something and had a real knack for finding vehicles and not paying much for them. Dad enjoyed taking us fishing and teaching us how to do things. He loved watching the roughriders play and going to their games with us.
Lovingly remembered and dearly missed.
