Robert Thomas Swindler passed away on October 17, 2026 at the age of 79 years.

Robert was a loving and devoted partner to Penny for over 54 years. He was a loving father, proud grandfather and great grandfather. He was also an annoying but loving “ugly” brother, a supportive uncle, friend and mentor to many. His love of billiards started before he could walk. He played and practiced over the years to become known as “The Legend.” Many tried to beat him but only a few rarely succeeded. The pool hall was his “other home” and his fellow pool players were an important part of his life and his other family.

Left to cherish Robert’s memory is his wife, Penny J. Swindler; children: Ursula, Trebor, Shara, David; grandchildren: Tanner, True, Brianna, Chandler, Emilio, Talon, Ethan, Evan, Portia, Shiloh, Zero, Ollie; great grandchildren: Cameron, Landon, Lorenzo; siblings: Ira (Max), Ruby, John, Leisa (Jeff), Roberta; sisters-in-law: Shirley and Violet; uncle, Horace; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents: David and Marie Swindler; grandparents: Nazar and Alice Martell, Annie and Oksasikewiyin; siblings: Edwin, Bruce, Violet, Lee, Suzie, William, Eva, Joey, Mike, Jack.

Robert began his journey home on Monday, October 19, 2026. His Funeral Service will take place Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. held at the Sweetgrass Community Centre at Sweetgrass First Nation. As per Robert’s wishes, cremation will take place following the service.
