Mr. Leonard Wappel

Mr. Leonard Wappel of the Prince district, Sk. passed away on August 27, 2024 at the age of 70 years.
Len was born in North Battleford in 1954. He went to school at Fitzgerald, McKitrick, NBCI and the Comprehensive High School. After graduation, Len worked at numerous jobs including plumbing and welding.
Len later worked in the forestry industry on Vancouver Island for about 30 years, mainly building logging roads. It was at this time that Len met Carol, and they were married in 1982. Len came home spring and fall to help with seeding and harvest. Later on, Len moved back to Saskatchewan and worked in the oilfields in Saskatchewan and Alberta, building oil leases. He also worked at Fort McMurray in the oil sands.
Len was an avid fisher and hunter. He enjoyed talking on the phone with friends and family and going for breakfast in Meota. He was known for giving thoughtful cards and gifts to others.
Leonard is survived by step-children: Richard & Robert & families; Brothers: Garry (Monica) – Joseph (Juanita) & Caitlin (Richard), Adeline; and Lyle (Mandy) – Candice (Adam), Kasey & Reegan.
Len was predeceased by his wife, Carol and parents: Alfred and Eleanor Wappel.
According to Len’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Interment will take place at a later date with a private family service.
