It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Dad and Pa – Douglas Charles Yuhasz on July 13th, 2026.

Doug was born in Kipling, SK to Joseph and Marion Yuhasz on January 25th, 1958. He met Lila Oberg January 25th, 1979 at a curling bonspiel. They married on August 8th, 1981. This year would have been 45 years. Doug devoted 42 years of his life to Cargill Grain Elevator.  They moved around wherever Doug’s career took them eventually settling in North Battleford in 1987.

Doug was an avid curler, golfer and ball player in his younger years. His real passion was hunting and fishing with his friends and family. He never wanted to miss an opportunity to be with people doing the things he loved. Doug had two daughters Melissa and Katelin.  He loved his girls and always made sure to support them on all of their path through life and experiences.  Doug was as selfless as they come and would do anything for anyone.  He had a way to make everyone feel so special and loved in his own way.  When his girls got married, he always said that, “He didn’t know how his girls got so lucky!”  He loved his son-in-laws and never missed an opportunity to brag about how much they did to help him. But Doug truly found his greatest joy when he became a “Pa.” Nothing in the world compared to the love he had for his four grandchildren. Being their Pa was his greatest privilege, and they were the light of his life. The highlight of every day was talking to his “kids.” He had a special gift for making each one feel deeply loved and incredibly important. No request was ever too big or too small—if it would make them smile, Pa was happy to do it. Whether it was teasing them with his playful sense of humor, picking up their favorite treats, calling just to check in, or spending countless hours cheering them on at their activities, he was always there. He watched every milestone with immense pride, wearing his signature smile, often with tears of joy in his eyes. His love for his grandchildren was unwavering, and the memories he created with them will be treasured forever. In his last couple of years, he developed a passion for walking at Wal-Mart and made some very good friends.  Every morning they had great conversation and the staff at Walmart gave him an honorary Walmart badge with his name and he showed it off with pride. He walked up and down the aisles looking for the deal of the day.  I know there were many people on his list that would receive a daily phone call letting them know what item was on sale.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 44 years Lila; Daughters Melissa (Benjamin) and Katelin (Will).  Grandchildren Grady, Beckett, Everly and Bostyn.

Doug was predeceased by his father Joesph, his mom Marion, his brother Joe, Father in Law Raymond, Mother in Law Marion and Niece Alex.

Funeral Services will be held at the Alex Dillabough Centre in Battleford on July 30, 2026 at 11:00.
