David Allan Krysak was born in Hafford on April 26, 1956 to parents Eugene and Mary. He is survived by his brother Michael. He is predeceased by his parents.
We lived on the farm 2 miles south of Krydor and life for us started out living in a 2-room house with no running water and a wood stove to keep us warm, so David knew what simple life was like. But he had to deal with health issues all his life. He was born with one leg shorter than the other so he wore a leg brace for a few years until his condition improved. He was challenged in some areas but he always did the best he could to help with things on the farm. There was one harvest season back in the 1980’s that we recently talked about. I asked him, David how many loads of wheat did you haul to the bins off Senkus’ 2 quarters that time? He said “Oh yes, 100 loads with the one ton about 150 bushels every load. He enjoyed fishing and golfing and went with dad many times.
But at age 38 he suffered a set back having an artificial aortic valve placed in his heart which restricted his abilities onwards and led to more complications throughout his life. But he never complained about his handicap, he was strong and lived to the best he knew how helping mom and dad as much as he could.
For several years he helped mom going and selling at the Farmer’s Market in Saskatoon. He spent several winters with the folks in Las Vegas where he discovered the Slot Machine which was a thrill for him. In the 1980’s he got involved calling Bingo for the Senior Center in Krydor and later for the Hafford Church Functions up to this present day. I gave him the name “Bingoman” and those of you who remember the days of CB radio he was Boo Boo Bear on channel 7. He was generous with his winnings giving back to others.
He survived many medical problems over the years but his last 24 day battle ended on June 11, 2026 when his weak heart led to kidney failure. May he now rest in peace. I will miss him very much, Michael.
