May 4, 1953 – May 12, 2026

The family of Brent Vernon Rackel announce his passing on May 12, 2026 at Edmonton, AB at the age of 73 years old.

Left to cherish his memory and remember all that he was is his family; his brother, Ross (Mary Lou) Rackel and children, Kurt (Linda) Rackel and children, Weston and Miika; daughter, Becky (Jackson) Meston and children Brynn, Griffin and Scout; his brother, Daryl (Judy) Rackel and children, Joel (Lindsay) and child, Aubrey, Leah (Cam) Kolasa and son Bennet. Brent is also survived by numerous loving relatives and friends in Saskatchewan, Alberta and B.C.

Brent was predeceased by his father and mother, Vern and Florence Rackel.

Brent was born in North Battleford, SK and was the middle child of three rambunctious boys. Brent spent his youth between North Battleford and the family cabin in Cochin, SK. After graduating from high school, Brent moved to Calgary and began a successful career in automobile sales. His sales career took him to Kamloops, Duncan and Victoria where he built many lasting friendships. He eventually relocated to Edmonton, where he continued his sales career in the modular home and relocatable camp industry until his retirement.

Brent’s happy place remained Lehman Creek in Cochin. There he built a new cabin on the original family lot his parents secured in the 1940’s. He loved fishing and spending time on the lake in his beloved “Woody”; a custom-built wooden boat. Brent was a devoted fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Edmonton Oilers and Brent rarely missed a game. Above all else, he cherished his family and never missed important milestones or special occasions with his parents, brothers, nephews and nieces.

In keeping with Brent’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place on July 17, 2026 at 3:00 PM at the City Cemetery in North Battleford, SK. There will be a Celebration of Brent’s life on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Cochin Community Hall and all are invited to attend.

The family suggests, that if desired, a donation can be made in Brent’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
