With profound sadness, the wife and family of Blair Leask would like to announce his passing at Battlefords Union Hospital on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at the age of 70.
Born to Roger and Connie Leask, Blair is the oldest of ten children. Blair is predeceased by his father Roger, brother Lionel, brother-in-law Brian, father-in-law Eugene and Uncle Leo. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Roxanne, mother Connie (Fred), siblings Melvin (Vasana), Cynthia, Laura, Clinton (Cindy), Beckie (Scott), Rene (Eunice), Twyla (Al), Lisa (Richard), mother-in-law Joyce, Roxanne’s siblings and their families, as well as many numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Once Blair was finished school, he worked for a time in British Columbia at a pulp mill and moved back to Saskatchewan in 1978, where he met Roxanne and stayed. Blair started his industrial painting career at Wylie Trailers, which changed owners several times, and retired in 2019. He had a passion for the outdoors and hunting deer, elk, moose, antelope and the occasional gopher hunt with his brothers, cousins, and nephews. When hunting was done for the year, he was already planning for the next year. Like many guys, Blair loved muscle cars and acquired a Chevy Chevelle and eventually found his favourite and bought his Plymouth Roadrunner. Blair’s friendly easy going nature made him many lifetime friends.
He was always ready to give a helping hand with whatever was needed. Most weekends and holidays were spent at our families farms visiting, playing Kaiser, he loved winning! Huge homemade holiday dinners and desserts, our Moms prepared, who are excellent cooks. Blair had a passion for hatching and raising chickens and special breeds of chickens. The egg incubator was kept in our spare bedroom…many a time we had little peeping chicks in our basement. They were placed in a box under a heat lamp until we could take them to his folks’ farm. He even had some Guinea hens for awhile at the farm, anyone who knows Guinea hens, knows they make excellent guard dogs! Every year was the annual chicken plucking/cleaning day at the Pernitsky farm. Family and neighbours got together, rolled up their sleeves and got 60-120 done at a time. Blair was a man deeply loved, a life of beautiful memories and a life well lived.
A Celebration of his life will be arranged for a future date.
With our families deepest gratitude for the compassionate care and support from Dr. Campbell throughout this journey and to BUH Palliative Care.
