Mervin Checkosis, Born January 28th, 1958, Passed Away October 23rd, 2020, Poundmaker Cree Nation, Saskatchewan.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, brother, uncle, and friend, Mervin Checkosis Sr. at the age of 62 years.

Mervin is predeceased by his parents: mother Christina Checkosis, step father Walter Baptiste and father Gilbert Bluehorn; Daughter Nicole; Son Tristan; Sisters Wilma, Bernice, and Janet Checkosis; Brother Everett Lightfoot.

He is loved and remembered by his Brother Ernest; Sister Madelaine; his Children Miranda (Dustin), Mervin Jr. (Tamara), Latishia (Darnell), Dustin (Chantell), Kashala (Robert), Keena (Leland), and Angelstar;
