Some of you may know him as Merlin “Butch-eye” was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, friend and confidante to many. I’m sure there was a party of family members, cousins and friends up there, as they greeted him in the heavens. Now he is whole.
Merlin was a very humorous man! Always had a story tell, and these stories always changed over time. He always presented himself professionally in the eye of the public. He was a very respectful guy too, always caring, always loving was always proud of his family and he loved a challenge, as well!
He loved his grandkids and looked forward in seeing them and always asked for them. Over the last year, his son, Merlin Jr. was a lot of help to his dad – I’m sure they shared a lot of moments together. Merlin was proud and thankful for him. Thanks, Jr! “He would go into the hospital many times, but would sign himself out. He actually did this at least 20 times, that bugger!!” He always had lots of stories to share.
You can still remember his smile, his voice and many of the funny moments, adventures he went through. In the memories of him, you will find peace and comfort knowing he is ok now. While he is gone now he will live in our hearts forever. He has touched the lives of many in his social work career.
Earlier in life, he was a part of the Olympics in the fencing category. His kids enjoyed their childhood as he would take them on an adventure, fishing, camping, hiking and exploring the forests, checking out the Blue Hill. They would go on trips to the mountains.
He was so happy to go on a helicopter ride last year with his son.
Left to cherish his memories, include his family and friends, far and wide. Butch-eye made friends everywhere he went. And will be missed for his character, sense of humor and whatever he had up his sleeve.
Thanks to all who helped him when he needed a hand.
