Dad was devoted to our mom, Perry and to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was equally devoted to his faith being a member of the parish of St. Vital for 65 years as well as being a 4th Degree Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus and serving on many councils and committees in the parish and the community. He was an excellent story teller and we all loved listening to his amazing life stories which he recalled with such accuracy. From moving to New Zealand in 1954 to spending 17 winters in Yuma Arizona. Mom and Dad loved adventures. Dad spent many years farming, raising cattle, hogs, grain and having a strawberry farm. Later on, Dad spent 23 years setting up farm equipment. In retirement, Dad spent many hours in his garage making wooden gifts for family. Dad enjoyed hosting birthday celebrations after church brunches and special occasions at his home. Dad loved unconditionally and taught us the value of family, friendship, hard work and faith in God. He had a witty sense of humor and left us with amazing memories. Dad had a life well lived with the love of his life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
