Leonard was born on April 3rd, 1943 at Pounmaker, Saskatchewan.  He passed away on May 23rd, 2018 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan.  He is survived by his wife Linda, children Annette, Todd, Barbara, Mitchell, Kalen (Richard) and Scotty, his siblings Rosie Checkosis, Elsie Semaganis, Clarence Semaganis,  Sandy (Stefanie) Semaganis, Violet (Elliot) Stanley, Randy (Pat) Semaganis, Ivan Checkosis, Patrick (Rita) Bonaise and Christopher Bonaise, his auntie & uncle Theresa and Simon Sapp and his uncle Wallace Semaganis, as well as his 27 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.  Leonard was predeceased by his twin daughters Valentina and Valerie, his parents Alice Semaganis & Patrick Yellowmud, grandparents Joseph & Mary Semaganis, uncles Felix and Wilfred Semaganis and siblings Jean Green, Gerald Checkosis and David & Elizabeth Yellowmud.  A wake will be held starting Thursday, May 24th, 2018 at 11:00 am and a funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 26th, 2018 at 11:00 am, both at the Poundmaker Veterans Hall at Poundmaker Cree Nation, SK.  Condolences may be made to the family at www.SallowsandMcDonald.com.  The family has placed their trust with Sallows & McDonald-Wilson & Zehner Funeral Home 306-445-2418.
