Lawrence Edward Doucette

It is with great sadness that the family of Lawrence Edward Doucette announces his sudden passing on Dec 18th, 2019 at the age of 57years.  Lawrence will be forever remembered by his two sons; Levi Bradley and Quinton Bradley-Doucette, brothers; Larry (Donna) Doucette, Kenny (Ruth) Doucette, Ian (Trisha) Doucette, sisters; Elwin (George) Speer, Wendy (Craig) Townsend, Sharon (Darryl) Meyers and numerous nieces and nephews.  Lawrence is predeceased by his father Albert Doucette, his mother Grace Doucette and his sister Carolyn Doucette. Lawrence lived his first seven years in town before the family moved to the farm near Delaronde Lake.  He attended school until he went to work at the sawmill.  He worked as an operator at the mill from the early 80’s till it closed down in 2006.  He then found various jobs such as rock truck driver, swamp cat driver and helping Christopher Warriner with his bee and cattle operation.  For the last couple of years Lawrence had a garden at his brother Kennys.  He found out he had quite the green thumb and grew quite a bountiful garden.  Many people in Big River were recipients of his generosity.  Lawrence had a great love of hunting and fishing.  Most of his spare time in the summers were spent finding elusive walleye.  Many would say he had it down to a science.  He shared his love of the outdoors with his two boys and he couldn’t have been prouder.   A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, January 4th, 2020 from the Big River Community Hall in Big River, SK, with Reverend Tyler Rody officiating.  His ashes will be spread at Fish Point on Delaronde Lake at a later date.  Memorial Donations in memory of Lawrence Doucette can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation as tokens of remembrance.   Family and friends wishing to send online condolences are welcome to visit www.beaulacfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Beau “Lac” Funeral Home, Lori Saam Funeral Director, Big River, 306-469-2277
