Our late mother had asked him to go and take care of her new house on the reserve when she
was given a home. He remained there steadfastly taking care of the little house that was
situated on the land we all grew up on. Our original house had been located within its proximity.
Harvey had attended the Onion Lake Residential School and moved home to Little PIne after he
was done with his schooling. Haps was involved in community events and activities. He was
part of the Little Pine Justice Committee at one time which took him to other events around the
province. He was also part of the Elders trips that were organized by leadership. Harvey was a
very humble man who lived a simple life but still managed to travel and see other places.
The family would like to sincerely acknowledge all his close friends who supported him in many
ways by taking him for rides, checking in on him, providing ceremonial support and in various
other ways; Late Randall Bear, Gavin Baptiste, Big Bird, Edgar Bear, John Glen Starr, and
Josephine and Alex Kennedy. He also spoke fondly of Curtis Bear whose support he greatly
appreciated.
