On December 9, 2025, Julia Moore passed away at the age of 91 in the Long Term Care Unit in Cold Lake, AB. Julie was born on October 28, 1934 in Winnipeg, where she grew up and met her husband, Glenn. They dated for four years before marrying, and went on to share 62 more years together.
In 1975, Julie and Glenn moved to North Battleford, Saskatchewan, where they raised their children, Jim and Colleen, and formed many great friendships. They remained there for the rest of their lives until Julie’s recent move to Alberta, in 2025.
As a young girl, Julie enjoyed figure skating, basketball, and swimming, and she remained a loyal sports fan throughout her life – always cheering on her favourite teams… GO RIDERS! She was an accomplished bridge player; both she and Glenn achieved Life Master status and traveled across the country for tournaments, even competing internationally.
Music was one of Julie’s greatest joys. She sang in the church choir for many years, and if you stopped by the house for an evening, you could be sure the guitar was coming out and a sing-a-long would soon follow. Her love of music brought her comfort and stayed with her until the end.
Julie loved spending time with people, sharing laughs and fun stories wherever she went. She will be missed by many.
Julie is survived by her children: Jim (Diane) Moore, Colleen Norman; grandchildren: Brandi, David, Brandon, Josh, Erika, Ryley, Danny, Sara; brother: Michael (Nancy) O’Neill; sister: Carol O’Neill as well as numerous great grandchildren, relatives and friends. Julie is predeceased by her husband Glenn Moore; parents: Eugene and Margaret O’Neill; brothers: Patrick, Dennis, Brian O’Neill. As per Julie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in North Battleford, Saskatchewan.
Donations in memory of Julie may be made to a Humane Society of your choice.
Respectfully submitted by the family.
