Joy Anne Ardagh

It is with deep sorrow the family of Joy Anne Marie Ardagh (nee Darholm) of Shell Lake, Saskatchewan announce her passing in Shell Lake, Saskatchewan on November 9, 2024, at the age of 67 years.
Joy Anne is survived by her husband Greg Ardagh, her four children, Karen (Daniel) Hasiuk, Melissa (Gerard) Lukan, Melinda (Clovis) Lumeka and Jonathon Ardagh; four grandchildren, Jett Hasiuk, Talia Hasiuk, Emmett Lukan and Natalie Lukan; her sister Karen (Daniel) McCaffrey; as well as her nephews, Cole (Lynea, Kaiden, Raeya) McCaffrey, Nolan McCaffrey and Denzil McCaffrey.
Joy Anne is predeceased by her father, Sven Darholm; her mother, Kathleen Darholm and her brother, Bruce Darholm.
Joy Anne was born on September 6th, 1957, in Edam, Saskatchewan to Sven and Kathleen Darholm. Joy Anne grew up on a farm outside of Mervin, Saskatchewan. Shortly after graduating high school Joy Anne moved to Saskatoon and worked various jobs always ending up being a manager of some type. Joy Anne worked for Caradon Metals in Saskatoon until December 1997 when her and the family moved to Shell Lake and purchased Shell Lake General Store. Joy and Greg ran the General Store for 26 years before retiring in December 2023.
Joy Anne enjoyed spending holidays with family, gardening and visiting with friends. Her years were full of hard work, hard times, and many good times. Throughout those years she had many laughs and shared many glasses of wine or a beer especially around a campfire. Joy Anne took pride in being part of the Shell Lake community through her participation in numerous board and committees; she had many friends and memories from the past and present. She was nothing short of an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother and friend. The community will grieve this loss as much as her family.
The Memorial Service for Joy Anne was conducted from Shell Lake Lions Hall, Shell Lake, Saskatchewan on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 1:00pm with Pastors Sarah Urano and David Jensen officiating. Interment followed the service in the Scandia Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Joy Anne may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Kinasao Lutheran Bible Camp.
