She was predeceased by her parents, Irene and Jack Jackson, sister Yvonne (Bill) Brightwell, and former husband, Larry Lascu. She was loved and will be sadly missed by her children: Loring (Lauretta) of Buffalo, New York, Lance (Janet) of Vancouver, British Columbia, and Lane (Tammie) of Regina, Saskatchewan; her six treasured grandchildren: Lev, Lyon, Sydney, Melody, Olivia and Connor; and her nieces Laurel (Bob), Rae, and Lynn (Nicole).
Joan was born in Brandon, Manitoba on December 3, 1935, and her family relocated to Swift Current. She trained as a hairdresser before marrying and settling in Regina, where she raised her three boys. She ensured her sons had a stable and loving upbringing. For a time she managed her own salon but eventually found her niche at Parkside Extendicare, where she enjoyed her work for many years. She retired at 67 and pursued her passions, included reading, walking, travelling, shopping and spending precious time with her children, sister, nieces, family and friends. Our family acknowledges and thanks the kind staff at Battlefords Union Hospital for their care for our Mom.
