Hester Glauba

The family would like to announce the peaceful passing of Hester Glauba on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at St Joseph’s Home in Saskatoon, SK at the age of 94 years. Prayer Service will be held at St Joseph’s Home Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 7:00 pm in the chapel located at 33 Valens Dr Saskatoon, SK with Father Gregory Hrynkiw presiding. Divine Liturgy will be held Monday, February 10, 2020 at the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hafford, SK at 11:00 a.m. with Father Ivan Derkach as celebrant. Interment will follow at the St. Demetrius Cemetery in Krydor, SK.
Hester is survived by her daughter Ann Newton and children Betty Tweet (Ken Gaudry), Elaine Molnar (Zolton), Linda Sluchinski (Harold Puddester); son Jerry Glauba; daughter Janet Boyenko and children Michael Boyenko (Hilary) and Aaron Boyenko (Kira); daughter Darlene Ballan [Gary] ,children Kathy Carlson (Jordan), Vicki Ballan (Richard Snowden), Jacquie Ballan (Derek Easthope); and 6 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Haska Shein, husband Andrew who passed away in October 4, 1972, and her sisters Mary & Stella, sons-in-law Gorden & Terry, and sisters-in-law.
Hester was born in Alticane, SK on March 25, 1925. She married Andrew Glauba on October 27, 1943 and farmed at the Krydor, SK homestead where they also had their family. She moved to a duplex in Hafford, SK in June 1988. After this she moved to a senior’s apartment in Saskatoon, SK in February, 2010, and finally to St. Joseph’s Home in Saskatoon in February 2017.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the Sisters, the nursing staff, and all the care aids at St Joseph’s for the time mom spent there. Thank you for making mom’s final days & journey one of compassion, respect & dignity.
