(Eva) Helen (Larmour) Mamer passed away peacefully Monday, November 20th, 2023 at Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre in Saskatoon. Helen was born on July 17, 1951 in Wilkie Saskatchewan, the youngest of two daughters of Robert and Margaret (Oxman) Larmour. The family moved to North Battleford Saskatchewan shortly after Helen was born and it was here where Helen grew up. Helen started teaching in 1973 with a teachers’ certificate, eventually graduating from the University of Saskatchewan with a bachelor’s degree in education in 1982. Helen married Jerry Mamer on August 16, 1975. Together they built a loving family with their two children Vincent (1979) and Jennifer (1983). After ten years of teaching in various communities Helen and Jerry settled in Stoughton Saskatchewan. Helen loved working with children and during her time in Stoughton had a successful career as an art educator and art gallery curator for the City of Weyburn. Helen was also actively involved in community events as well as in Our Lady of La Salette parish at Forget Saskatchewan. In 2005 Helen and Jerry retired to Saskatoon to be closer to family. Helen’s faith was very important to her and upon moving to Saskatoon she quickly became an active parishioner at St. Anne’s parish. Throughout her life, Helen loved spending time at the family cabin in Cochin Saskatchewan where she could connect with family and friends. She loved picking Saskatoon berries and sitting on the beach, by the fire, or anywhere else where a good visit could be had. Helen will be remembered for her sense of humour, wit, kindness, joy, and grace. She leaves a legacy of love and commitment to her family and friends. Helen is survived by her husband of 48 years Jerry Mamer, her sister Lois (Larmour) Thomas, children Vincent (Yvonne) and Jennifer Mamer. She is also survived by her granddaughter Amelia Mamer and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her parents Margaret and Robert Larmour, and her brother-in-law Cyril Thomas.
