It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mum, Mother in-law and Granny – Elizabeth (Liz) Weston on Friday, September 1st at Battleford’s Union Hospital.  We would like to thank the amazing staff at the BUH – ER, 3rd Floor, and Home Care – for their professional, kind and thorough care of our Mum.

Mum was born in London, England in March 1939.  She met her husband Iain Weston at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.  They were married in March 1962 and moved to North Battleford in June of 1964.  Mum worked in the field of Social Work in the UK and then with the Red Cross Society and the Department of Social Work in North Battleford.

She is survived by her son, Richard Weston (Kathy) – Barrett (Calgary, AB); daughter, Sarah Banno (Dean) – Alexander, Christopher and Courtney (Richmond, BC); daughter, Cate Soffer (David) – Max and Jill (Saskatoon, SK).

Liz is predeceased by her husband, Iain; brother, Anthony; sister, Gillian.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. held at the Meota Community Complex, Meota Saskatchewan with Reverend Trevor Malyon officiating.

In lieu of flowers – donations to the Battleford’s Union Hospital Foundation are appreciated – PO Box 1358 North Battleford, SK S9A 3L8. Mum and Dad were founding members of this foundation, so it is near and dear to our family.
