Dennis Lee Ernst, age 71, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 18, 2021 surrounded by loved ones.
Dennis was born on April 7, 1950 in Watrous. He grew up having to start working at a young age and grew to be a hard-working man.
He was a stock car racer, volunteer firefighter and a collector of many things. His hat collection was locally famous. He was known as the diving grandpa at the North Battleford pool. He loved the lake and the outdoors and he hated cleaning fish.
Dennis was married on April 7, 1973 to Betty Weber. They had two kids, Robert (Bernadette) and Kim (Jason). He enjoyed anytime with his grandchildren, Matthew, Ashton, Nathan and Hailey and most recently his great-granddaughter, Jasmine.
The last few months had not been kind to Dennis with his failing health he lost some abilities to do what he loved to do. Fortunately, he was surrounded by many loving friends and family that made sure he had the things he needed and lots of company. We are especially grateful for the dedicated visits from his brother, Don and niece, Deb.
Dennis was predeceased by his mother, Emma; father, Stanley; brothers: Wilfred, Howard and Bobby.
While its hard to say goodbye, we are relieved to know he is no longer in pain. Due to current times, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. We ask that you have a beer and lemonade for him. Also, we never had a chance to ask Dad, where did you put the weed vape?
Condolences for the family can be left at www.eternalmemoriesfuneral.ca Arrangements have been entrusted to Trevor Watts of Eternal Memories Funeral Service & Crematorium.
