Cecilia Clara McLenaghan

Cecilia passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at her home in Harwood Manor at the age of 94 years.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Ali (Ron) Bergeron of Saskatoon, SK, Joh-Anna (Bill) Huber of St. Thomas, ON, Gwyen McLenaghan of Calgary, AB, Larry (Claudette) McLenaghan of Battleford, SK, Donna McLenaghan (Brian Veroba) of Calgary, AB. Her many grand children, great grand children and her great-great grandchild. Numerous nieces and nephews and relatives who shared in her life. She is survived by her brothers: Len, John and Ray and sisters: Kay and Angie.
She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Vivian McLenaghan, her son, Ross McLenaghan, her granddaughter, Tasha McLenaghan, her parents: Joseph and Clara Pernitsky, sisters: Bernilda Hooey, Clara Rodak and brother, Joseph Pernitsky.
Cecilia was a kind and gentle person with a terrific sense of humour and a great love for her family. She was born in Russia and traveled with her family to Canada in 1928 where they settled on a homestead in Saskatchewan. She married Vivian McLenaghan and they resided in Wilkie, SK where they raised their six children. She worked for many years as a nurse’s assistant in Wilkie Union Hospital and at the Battlefords Regional Care Centre. She loved flower gardening, sewing, crocheting and had a passion for china, crystal and jewelry. She hosted many family gatherings and her home was always open to family and friends. Her famous line was “Don’t work too Hard”. Cecilia has gone with Jesus but will be forever loved.
