It is with profound grief and sadness the Ziprick family announces the passing of Brent Carson Ziprick at age 62 following a 12-year battle with cancer. He passed peacefully at home with his family by his side, at Meeting Lake, Saskatchewan. Brent was born on January 16, 1964 to Fred and Eleanor Ziprick in Russell, Manitoba, the fourth of five children. The family later moved to Bredenbury to plant their roots. He graduated high school in 1982 and went on to become an Interprovincial Journeyman Mechanic in 1985 while working at the local garage in Bredenbury.
Brent spent his career as a journeyman mechanic making connections throughout Saskatoon and beyond with his lively personality and humor. Brent was recognized nationally for his knowledge and expertise as a technician through General Motors. He worked on everything from Corvettes to Zambonis and combines to his kids vehicles. Brent enjoyed many sports, such as curling, golf and slow pitch. He also enjoyed watching and participating in racing events. Starting in the late 1980s, Brent was on a stock car racing team as a driver as well as pit crew at Bridge City Speedway. On weekends, you could find him at the lake working on the cabin, out fishing, or starting his next project.
Brent’s cancer diagnosis never got in his way. He viewed it as a new challenge that he was determined to get through. Those around him were inspired by his positive attitude and his “glass half-full” approach to life. Brent leaves behind his wife Theresa, son Carter (Kristen Burrows), daughter Paige (Chance Jesseau, Brynlee Jesseau), stepdaughter Lindsay Sarauer (Brent Lanfermann), stepson Ryan Sarauer, Brother Tom Ziprick and Brother Ian Ziprick (Laura), and multiple nieces and nephews. Brent was predeceased by his father, Fred Ziprick, mother Eleanor Ziprick, sister Janice Sane, sister Darlene Jensen, and sister-in-law Audrey Ziprick.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
