Annemarie Trotchie (nee Kinner) passed away peacefully at the age of 74 on July 14th, 2020 at River Heights Lodge in North Battleford. Annemarie was born in Miltern, East Germany. She came to Canada with her family when she was 7 years old. Annemarie graduated from Marvel Beauty College in 1964, and was a much-loved hairdresser for the rest of her professional life, often running her own business.
‘Amie’ was admired for her free spirit and her spontaneous creativity. She worked hard all her life, raised three children, and created beautiful works of art with soft pastel throughout most of her adult life. Her well-known lake scenes and Prairie landscapes are in many homes and businesses around the Battlefords.
Annemarie influenced so many and will be missed. She is predeceased by her mother and father, Marianne and Werner Kinner. Annemarie is survived by her three children: Monika Kinner, Michael Schab, Nicholas Trotchie, as well as her husband Chester Trotchie. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great grandson.
Because of pandemic travel & gathering restrictions, a traditional funeral will not be immediately held. The family is planning a private ceremony for her ashes to be laid to rest at a later date. A ‘Celebration of Annemarie’s Life and Art’ will be posted at a later date and shared on social media for those unable to attend. Condolences can be left at: www.sallowsandmcdonald.com.
