Ann Juba passed away at Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, SK, on December 29, 2025, at the age of 95 years. Ann is survived by her loving husband, Vic Juba and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Christian and Anna Carstensen (Sankey), her siblings, Bertha Anderson, Henry (Hank) Carstensen, and Minna (Minnie) Plum, and two nieces, Anna Sorochan (Anderson) and Betty Bazylinski (Anderson), and two nephews, Lewis Anderson and Harvey Plum.
Born Anna Irene Carstensen, she grew up in Gallivan, SK. After graduating from the General Hospital in Edmonton as an RN, she worked at the Viking and Lloydminster Hospitals before spending 26 years as head nurse at the Lloydminster Clinic.
Ann and her husband, Vic, celebrated their 70th Anniversary at Grace United Church on November 30th.
A wonderful singer, Ann performed in a duo, a barbershop quartet, Sweet Adelines, Grace United Church choir, and the “Doc and Friends” group.
Ann was a truly remarkable person: smart, kind, funny and always composed. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by so many, both family and friends.
The funeral service was held at the WLS Convention Centre at the Lloydminster Exhibition Grounds on January 8, 2026. A heart-felt thank you to the staff at Lloydminster Hospital for their compassionate care; Grace United Church, Reverend George Mafuleka and church staff; Grace United Church Choir and Lloyd Minstrels; Nurse Honour Guard; the Lion’s Club; the Rotary Club; Gwen Mottram for the video tribute; all the honorary pallbearers; Joel McCaw and McCaws Funeral Service and all who came from near and far to help us celebrate the life of our beloved Ann.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alberta Diabetes Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society or charity of donor’s choice.
