Celebrate the Arts ….. of Illusion!

The Dekker Centre’s Celebrate the Arts returns Friday, April 8th.

This year celebrates the magic of the arts. Our show-stopping mainstage performer is Wes Barker, illusionist and comedian.

Wes has appeared on America’s Got Talent, the Comedy Network, and even ‘fooled’ Las Vegas magicians Penn and Teller on their TV show Fool Us.

With 28 million views on You Tube, Wes is one of the most popular entertainers in his genre.

The magical evening starts at 6 p.m. in the Dekker Centre Atrium with multiple musical performances, roving puppeteers, and the work of local visual artists. Enjoy the delicious food supplied by our inspired local caterers, sample the Magical Mystery Drink at our refreshment stations, or hear your ‘future’ from the Great Swami (truthfulness not guaranteed).

Try painting your own souvenir of the evening, or take home a picture from our enchanted-to-make-you-look-good photo booth.

Following Wes Barker’s show at 8:00 p.m., Danny and the Dusters will join us in Lawrence Hall and the Evelyn Ulmer Atrium to keep us entertained and celebrating the art of having fun until the early hours of the morning.

Proceeds of the evening support the operating and programming expenses of the Dekker Centre, and make it possible for local performing arts groups to use the Centre at affordable rates. Tickets are $100 and go on sale immediately.
