Western Development Museum – A Great Place to Visit Before Summer’s End

Aug 25, 2017 | 12:37 PM

Indoor Exhibit Gallery

Be inspired by the ingenuity and resilience of Saskatchewan people as you explore the North Battleford WDM.

Old Abe the eagle, long time symbol of the J.I. Case machinery company, towers nearly four metres above a collection of vintage vehicles. Vignettes of rural life offer a glimpse into the workaday world of the 1920s. New this year is Canada’s best collection of 19th century Canadian-built portable steam engines. You won’t see this lineup anywhere else.

Stroll along a timeline rich with artifacts and photographs that depict Saskatchewan from 1905 to 2005. See the steam-powered Phoenix Centiped log hauler, one of a handful known to exist.
